I'm sorry, she said to him, he turned around and asked why? she scoffed and smiled with million of reasons rolling on her head... How can she explain all these million thoughts spinning through her head for the last 24 hours without sounding ridiculous?

But the truth was it might have been ridiculous, but they were still things worrying her. They were still thoughts keeping her awake most of the night.

And as she tried to explain all of it logically, she came to this realization that nothing about her anxiety is logical.

Anxiety has robbed many of us of the sense of speaking, Anxiety has made many of us question everything and everyone around us. Yes, Anxiety has made many of us doubt if we can approach a prospective client without screwing up; Anxiety has caused us friendship, relationships; oooooh dear anxiety what else have you left to rob us off? Anxiety led us to a lot of down moments!

I've watched friends sweating around me not understanding that I know what they are going through, but its called anxiety and yes I understand it. I have seen anxiety taking a series of thought from a truly confident person to a speechless person.

Anxiety does make one apologize for almost everything, talking too much, caring too much, thinking too much, sleeping too much, standing too much, to mention but a few. So this is the little message of hope for anyone else going through the same phase of feelings and wondering what is wrong with them, truth be told nothing is wrong with you.

1. Your anxiety does not define you. It is part of you, yes. It affects your life, yes. But it is not you. You are so much more than the racing heart and the worries that plague your mind from time to time. Learning to separate yourself from your mental illness will be one of the best things you do for yourself. Because you are so, so much more than your anxiety.

2. You waste too much time overthinking.  Long before your plans are set to start, you are already thinking about what might happen. You never give yourself a chance to relax. You are always on edge. You are always predicting the future or resenting the past instead of living in the present.

3. You are stronger than you think. After all, you live with anxiety every single day and that’s no easy feat. Your mind can sometimes feel like a battlefield with all the shit your mental illness puts you through. But you always make it out. You always prevail. You always pick yourself back up. And that takes real strength.

4. You are loved (and are worthy of that love). I know your anxiety tells you otherwise, so this is worth definitely repeating. You have plenty of people in your life who love you deeply and for good reason. Do not lose sight of this fact. Your anxiety does not make you unlovable. Not even close.

5. Taking medication or going to therapy (or both!) is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, these are the steps that could very well save your life. There are many different types of therapies and medications, it is all about finding the one that works for you since we are all so idiosyncratic.

6. Don’t be scared to put yourself out there.

Do you know anyone with Anxiety issues? How do they cope? How do you cope? Comment with a message of hope to make anyone going through anxiety like my friend feel they are not alone.
