Are you looking for a little change or shift in life? I mean we all can agree at some point in life we do seek for such a shift hence decluttering our life. I am a firm believer of this, getting organized, switch some things around and expect changes. One thing I can promise you for sure it ain't easy but its something we all ought to do at a certain time in life.

For a very long time, I was afraid of taking up space. I was afraid of being too much for other people so instead I try to be less, shrink down and hope to make them feel more comfortable. I put others before myself because for some reason I think that they matter more or that their comfort is more valuable than my own. I convince myself that I can suffer through discomfort just to make someone else a little more comfortable.

Then I discovered "spacing up", there’s something to be said about creating space for the arrival of what you want to come flowing into your life. For me, that’s a life of fulfillment in work and people that surround me. If things in my life aren’t serving that purpose for me, then it’s time to say goodbye.

Sometimes our lives become cluttered by the drama of our daily routine, the monotony of our everyday. We all know that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting the same results. The easiest way to think about creating mental space is to think about it in this way. If you’ve been living your life the same way and the shifts you’ve been hoping to make have just not been occurring, it’s probably time to make some real changes. And 2019 is for you dear reader to pull that trigger and give you some space!

The things taking up mental space in your brain might be taking up space you need for something bigger, something better and something that is exactly what you need or what you’ve been dreaming of. If the things in your mind that are taking up this space were supposed to be there, they wouldn’t quite feel like this. They wouldn’t hurt so much.

So back in 2016, I discovered this secret called spacing out and I have never felt better, for me I let a lot of things consume me for too many months. From friends who treated me badly to a love I straight up was never going to get, I held on and held on tight. I continued to look for the good in people that I cared so much about. No matter how much you know it’s there, sometimes that’s just not enough.

And I finally realized that this space created more happiness over suffering to myself. Sometimes making space requires you to burn some bridges and to close some doors. Sometimes that’s the most painful thing in the world to do. Sometimes that takes losing friends or breaking hearts. And probably pissing some people off. You need to remember that the person whose heart means the most in all of this is yours. That’s why you have to do what needs to be done. GET IT!!

Take up space. Speak your voice. Do what you were meant to do. Be bold. Don’t apologize for being you – NEVER apologize for being you. It certainly stinks that it has to be this way, but sometimes it’s the only way. It’s one thing to say that you’re making the space, but let’s be real. Are you really?

But enough about that.

Being yourself is incredible because there is no one else like you, and that’s really cool if you think about it. You were born to take up space, to leave your mark, to take risks, to live your truth and that’s what you should be doing.

Quit focusing on making others more comfortable by making yourself less comfortable. You’re not doing anyone a favor, you’re only making your life harder than it has to be. Remember the less you have is the more you end up having eventually with all the rooms you give for more to come  knocking!
